SUMMARY
Accountable for all aspects of the Laurel plant performance and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that is consistent with quality and regulatory requirements.Directly manages supervisory staff and is responsible for the performance of all plant personnel.
Must have a strong sense of integrity, strong organizational skills, be customer focused, have people skills that are geared toward professional composure, problem solving, and working with people at all levels and functions.Will have the ability to analyze, communicate and present information to management and employees while working closely with other departments.The Plant Manager will make ongoing operational recommendations to the EVP and Senior Management on increasing efficiencies, capital equipment needs, staff development and overall facility improvements.

Plans and directs production activities in the most efficient and cost prohibitive manner. Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications, operating and production problems. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met and completed timely and accurately. Available and connected with all shifts; to include nights, weekends, and holidays in this 24/7 milk balancing facility. Responsible for budget management of Laurel's operations activities. Responsible for capital planning within budgeted dollars and meeting timelines. Responsible for Regulatory and Safety Compliance Responsible for problem solving for all operational and manufacturing operations, coordinating with finance, sales and marketing teams at the plant. Develops key performance goals and manages the performance of direct reports. Responsible for partnering with Human Resources regarding Union relations and negotiations for the union contract and union employees within operations of the facility. All other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Building Effective Teams Action Oriented Process Management Problem Solving Quality Orientation Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 8 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment Bachelor's Degreepreferred Evaporator/dryer and engineering experience a plus OR any combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is required to travel by car to company sites and off-site meetings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
