Overview
BioMADE is seeking a limited-term Digital Product Manager to join our Emeryville, CA office. BioMADE is creating a one-of-a-kind Digital Backbone and developing a supply chain search and insights tool. The Digital Backbone fulfills an unmet need to provide a unified computational infrastructure for bioproduction-centered collaboration across industry, academia, and the Department of Defense. The supply chain search and insights tool is an enterprise B2B tool that will help procurement teams and other stakeholders create, manage, and maintain their supply chains.
The Digital Product Manager will help manage, develop, and outline a successful roadmap for the Digital Backbone and supply chain tool. The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Product Manager who has also served as either as a project or program manager. The DPM will work with the Data team to ensure that the products we create meet user needs, business, usability, and design / branding objectives. The role will be instrumental in stakeholder engagement to ensure the team understands the voice of the customer and has a constant feedback cycle with customers and subject matter experts. The DPM will coordinate aspects of the product development process including analysis, design, testing, and delivery to our members. The DPM will also be responsible for creating a great customer experience and customer acquisition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Co-create and manage the product roadmap of BioMADE's Digital Backbone and other data-centric projects. Lead stakeholder engagement efforts for data-centric projects. Pitch and engage new stakeholders who can provide feedback on the data-centric initiatives. Map stakeholders to the data initiatives that they can support. Set the agenda and cadence for engaging with existing collaborators. Present findings and progress updates to key stakeholders. Gather requirements from business stakeholders, write user stories, create personas, and define success metrics. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa. Create functional specifications, and mockups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts. Analyze user behaviors, needs, and pain points to identify solutions and improvements to current workflows. Lead the innovation process and ensure a pipeline of new ideas are being generated continuously. Participate and engage in weekly agile ceremonies; facilitate those required for product artifacts. Write and break down epics independently as needed. Write and review detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. Identify problems before they arrive and navigate to solutions that don't interfere with the overall goals and timelines. Requirements
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Digital Product Manager or similar role Experience with Project or Program Management Solid understanding of web development, UI, and user experience optimization as well as emerging opportunities in social media, email, search, and mobile. Familiarity with Digital Product metrics Expertise with product growth strategies and methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships. Ability to operate as a partner and can work across teams and functions to drive stakeholder alignment and co-create product assets (roadmaps, PRDs, etc.) Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action. Batchelor's degree in a Biological, STEM, or related field Hands-on experience conducting proof of concepts and product testing.
