As a AWS FinOps Architect you would support CMS and their Hybrid Cloud application teams to lead design reviews, builds, and architect along with cloud tools to ensure rightsizing (the process of resizing cloud resources to better match the workload requirements), workload management (only running resources when they are needed), removing unused resources, and monitoring for spending anomalies.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
:
Assess and recommend cloud-based infrastructure, network operations, capacity, and resource management for the cloud program ensuring a cost effective
Drive thought leadership around optimizations and frugal architectural designs
Provide troubleshooting support for standard problems encountered by end-users.
Work with internal and external customers to diagnose and resolve issues with cloud infrastructure and services as they arise.
Use many different tools and technologies within the AWS Cloud ecosystem including AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Route53, AWS ECS/EKS, AWS VPC etc.
Position will require some work during non-traditional business hours to support largescale cloud platform that support mission critical applications, take point on end-to-end support and smooth operations of cloud-based infrastructure, support change windows, incident response and resolution and other scheduled maintenance activities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education
: Relevant and related technical training, certification(s), or degree
Required Experience
: 15+ years of experience in cloud operations or system administration; Including 3 to 5 years of experience in Cloud, with experience as a FinOps practitioner; 8+ years of experience in cloud operations or system administration
Required Technical Skills
: Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; Knowledge of Linux Operating System and Command Line Tools; Knowledge of Windows System Administration

Required Skills and Abilities
: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication, both written and verbal; Must be able to give presentations to leadership; Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team; Must have good collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
: Knowledge of, and experience, with cloud financial operations best practices, methodologies, and processes; Familiarity with Agile methodology; DMV residents preferred; Certification could include AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect (Associate)
Location
: 100% Remote USA; Must be willing to travel occasionally to the MD/VA/DC area on an as needed basis
US Residency:
Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior to submitting an application for a Federal ID Card.
Working Hours:
Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm eastern time. All resources on the program must support occasional incident/issue during non-core business hours.

The likely salary range for this position is $184,662 - $236,900. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
