EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in
Accounting
from an accredited institution Two to three years of work experience, preferably in general ledger or governmental accounting Solid understanding of US GAAP, and GASB policies and procedures Proficient knowledge of Excel required; Yardi and/or QuickBooks preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions. Post monthly journal transactions utilizing accounting software. Review general ledger transactions, trail balance, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy in reporting and application of accounting policies and procedures; Reconcile accounting system general ledger to the external HUD reimbursement system. Review and maintain schedules such as prepaid, mortgage, insurance, amortization and depreciation schedules. Compile and submit financial data or information to internal and external auditors. Assemble necessary reports and information such as monthly Board Packets or Owner Reports requested by the Accounting Manager or Finance Director. Prepare, develop, maintain, and generate reports such as financial statements, delinquency, cost analysis, Owner Reports, Board Packets, Voucher Management System, and Financial Data Schedule (FDS) on a monthly, quarterly, and/ or annual basis; reports may be required by The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), investors, and management. Prepare annual and special budget reports such as Operating Budgets, Obligation and Expenditure Report, Operating Subsidy, and Settlement Statements. Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital; Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
REQUIRED LICENSES
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license, proof of personal auto insurance to the minimum defined levels, and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Salary
Salary is $45,000 year to $55,000, plus excellent benefits. Salary is negotiable within range.
