Position Overview
The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) has overall responsibility for technical areas (Machine shop, maintenance and projects) aiming maximization of resources, including data analysis to ensure full production output per goals and objectives of the Company. Support with projects and technology the maintenance department to improve performance of assets including robotics, automation and TPM program (MPS) of the company. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organization success.

Designs, evaluates, and troubleshoots tooling, equipment ( mechanical, robotics, automation) and manufacturing processes for adherence and improvement of safety, quality, and delivery and where feasible, reduces manufacturing costs; follows all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including TPM and Mustad Performance System (MPS). Utilizes to fullest extent, data analytics, robotics and automation tools and techniques to create and maintain industrial equipment in optimal condition to achieve production goals. Supports supervisors and other staff with technical knowledge related to Project management, Robotics, automation and 3D CAD model programming and drawing, robotics, closed die hot forging, machine shop, etc. Shares best practices and recommends new process machinery. Support team members with technical knowledge in our process that could include maintenance TPM approach, Reliability center maintenance tools (RCM) and TPM, machine shop, closed die hot forging, robotics, tools for hot forging process Conducts and/or participates in design reviews for new products and new process projects. Supports R & D in integrating new technologies and machinery into the manufacturing environment. Use extensible data analysis to support decision making processes. Develops standardized operating instructions for upgrade processes, maintaining and updating all documentation. Creates reports and analyzes data. Performs or assists with other duties as requested or assigned. Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
BS degree in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Process engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics) 5+ years process engineering experience in field operation, maintenance, machine shops, technical areas of engineering, including TPM, RCA, Lean tools, data analysis tools, 3D CAD modeling, Solidworks or other modeling software Knowledge of process (hot forged, die close dies, tooling, CNC machines, or robotics) 3+ Experience working in technical areas like maintenance. Problems solving skills, advance technical skills, analytical thinker Proven work experience as TPM, maintenance, robotics, automation, technical engineer in hot forged processes and /or related industrial companies Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills and experience Highly self-motivated, adaptable to change, and an excellent work ethic Able to read, understand, analyze, and problem-solve mechanical and electrical drawings Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision Proficiency with MS Office, well organized, and with a strong aptitude for details Must be able to read, write, and speak English Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)
Expert with automation, robotics and PLC programming Experience working in maintenance areas. Advanced analytical skill Expert working with CNC machines, robotics programming, close-die, hot forge, designing tooling. Spanish fluency verbally and in writing Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally 10%
Work Environment
The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and be working with and near moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
