Summary : We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations of our corrugated paper manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with experience in a manufacturing environment. This role involves managing daily accounting functions, inventory cost analysis, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and industry standards. Inventory Management : Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accurate cost allocation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Cost Accounting : Analyze production costs, labor, and overhead for pricing and profitability assessments. Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development and management of budgets, forecasting expenses, and revenue for different departments. Accounts Payable & Receivable : Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, payment processing, and vendor relations. General Ledger Management : Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized. Compliance and Auditing : Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, regulations, and conduct periodic audits of financial records and processes. Tax Preparation and Compliance : Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Process Improvement : Identify areas of financial process inefficiency and work on improving workflows for cost reduction and increased accuracy. Administrative Tasks : Maintain files for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Will be responsible for answering phone calls and facilitating as necessary, greeting or answering to front lobby guests. Assist with Daily KPI reporting. Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Experience : Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production industry.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Amtech, SAP or equivalent).
Knowledge of Industry : Experience with cost accounting and financial management in the corrugated paper or similar manufacturing industries is preferred.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial data and reports.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with various teams and departments.
Problem-Solving : Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and offer solutions for process improvements.
Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively with operations, procurement, and sales teams to ensure financial accuracy across the organization.
Key Competencies:
Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations Experience with cost accounting in manufacturing Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadline in a fast-paced environment Understanding of industry-specific financial challenges (raw material costs, production cycles)
