The Laboratory of Neuroimaging (LNI, Chief: Nora D. Volkow, M.D.) in the NIAAA intramural program is recruiting a post-doctoral researcher
to conduct multimodal neuroimaging and neuropsychological research
in substance use disorders within the Clinical Research Center on the main NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. Candidates should be a
highly motivated
postdoctoral fellow with a strong interest in conducting
clinical trials that assess
brain function
and
behavior in substance use disorder.
LNI conducts structural, functional and neurochemical imaging studies in human subjects using PET, MRI, simultaneous PET/MRI, and EEG. This post-doctoral fellow will assist with clinical trials design, management, and implementation, as well as data analysis and publication of findings. In addition, the fellow will work on secondary data projects and will have the opportunity to develop their own research questions related to substance use disorders. This position will involve substantial interaction with patient populations including individuals with alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder. Minimum Requirements

Application Process
Applicants should send a cover letter describing their interest and rationale for pursuing a postdoc, a resume/CV, three references with contact information, and two writing samples (should demonstrate ability to communicate complex concepts in plain language, e.g., research summary for website or lay audience) to: Dr. Gene-Jack Wang by email to gene-jack.wang@nih.gov by
January 31, 2025. NIH is an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. All positions are subject to a background check. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
