Informatics Analyst - Purchasing Overview

Supports the Purchasing Department to evaluate systems, applications and tools used to record, organize, store, and analyze data; utilize these resources to create departmental and organizational efficiencies, optimize performance and reduce expense; establish and maintain vendor relationships, contracts and formularies.

Responsibilities

Informatics Analyst - Purchasing Essential Job Functions
  • Devise strategy for producing deliverables from information stored in the organization's data and systems by collaboratively selecting and utilizing the most appropriate analytic tools to create process and expense efficiencies
  • Designs, develops and deploys executive dashboards, operational scorecards, ad hoc and canned reports based on requirements, data and other resources
  • Identify data quality issues in existing queries and works with business users to remedy problems
  • Analyze data and identify opportunities, spearhead project initiatives, focusing on expense reduction, process or service optimization, system standardization and/or re-engineering
  • Serve as a process improvement change agent for adoption, training, and implementation activities
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures related to system applications and business practices
  • Establish and maintain professional, positive working relationships and communication with all levels within and external to the organization
  • Responsible for systems and integration of the Purchasing Department resources to ensure seamless and accurate processing of purchase requisitions and orders with appropriate approval workflow keeping the end user experience in mind
  • Comply with all Purchasing policies and procedures, compliance standards, etc. and notify Supervisor of any concerns
  • Coordinate contracts and business reviews with vendors, service contractors and manufacturer representatives
  • Maintain appropriate Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) relationships to provide access to national and local vendor contract portfolios. Evaluate new and renewed GPO contracts for use by Post Acute Partners (PAP) facilities
  • Negotiate, review and catalog vendor supply and service contracts for best pricing, terms and conditions, etc. to establish business relationships and savings opportunities
  • Oversee Sourcing Specialist to ensure contracts, vendors, formularies, etc. are established and maintained in accordance with the agreements, including pricing, terms and service requirements
  • Responsible for due diligence and contract review prior to facility acquisition
  • As requested, assist in processing and managing lease agreements
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management staff or Supervisor


Qualifications

Informatics Analyst - Purchasing Educational Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age, bachelor's degree in business or IT, 5 - 10 purchasing and data analysis required. MS Office (Word and PowerPoint) proficiency, advanced capabilities in Excel and data analysis, and general computer skills required. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills required. Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
