Primary Focus
Sr Manager, Category is a higher-level position with a broader scope of responsibility and more significant strategic impact. Can be a mentor to less experienced leaders. May lead teams who are responsible for higher valued vendors within a category that are critical to Ingram Micro's business objectives as a platform company. Can play a more active role in shaping strategies within the solution category.
Leads and develops the platform level team within a category. Manages and executes against the strategic priorities and vision for the entire catalog portfolio, while driving focused growth and profitability for their portfolio of vendors. Advocate a clear vision of the strategy of category and platform engagement models and provide clear direction with internal stakeholders how to approach and achieve them in the long term.
Key Responsibilities
Build and develop team focused on the customer experience. Develop business strategies within their category, to maximize the Xvantage experience for our vendor, customer and associates driving growth and profitability of multi-vendor solutions of the active customer base. Leverage data and insights to develop and evolve core focus areas of the category and maximize value creation for our customers. Monitor external market developments and competitive activity as key input to strategy creation. Attract, lead, inspire and develop employees, ensuring business continuity and talent growth.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each vendor within category to monitor their performance. Utilize Xvantage capabilities to set appropriate KPI's. Foster positive and long-lasting relationships with vendors to promote collaboration and innovation. Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage overall P&L of vendor category.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $113,900.00 - $193,600.00 per year.
The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance. What experience, knowledge and skills does a Sr Manager, Category need?
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to operate in a fast paced, continuously changing growth environment, with the ability to deliver complex solutions in a platform environment to our customers.
- P&L Management and financial acumen within a category group.
- Collaboration & inspirational leadership capabilities driving vision and accountability to teams.
- Experienced at working in or with a matrixed and collaborative organization.
- Deep understanding of the technology channel ecosystem, and market drivers for the respective technology category.
Requirements:
- Four-year college degree (or additional relevant experience in a related field).
- Minimum ten years functional experience including a minimum of five years leadership experience.
- Ability to make significant contributions to the company.
