SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Distribution Center Operations executive to lead the San Jose/Morgan Hill facility. This role focuses on developing the vision and roadmap to support the long-term distribution and logistics strategy for this facility as apart of the North America Supply Chain Network. This role's tactical focus will be on safety, service, and operational accuracy within a highly automated environment, including managing robotic cranes and shuttles. The ideal candidate will champion a positive workplace culture, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various facias within the North America Group. Ensures that logistics and distribution needs are structured and delivered as required to support business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the oversight of the Companys 400K+ square foot distribution facility in its Morgan Hill, California location.
Collaborate with merchandising teams and manage relationships with multiple brands, including Shoe Palace, Hibbett, City Gear, JD Sports, and Finish Line.
Utilize your expertise in automation to optimize the performance of robotic systems and ensure efficient workflows.
Oversee online fulfillment and inventory control, including handling return-to-vendor shipments and cycle counts.
Adapt operations as necessary, particularly in response to growth and changes in inventory needs, with the potential for shift expansion.
Develops and Defines logistics strategies based on the companys vision, values, goals, and objectives to support the growth of the organization in a cost-effective manner while improving service and reliability.
Works with senior executives to define a logistics distribution strategy enabling the company to keep its competitive edge through logistics and distribution excellence
Develops and executes strategic management of warehouse and distribution assets.
Oversees and ensures all business-related functions at the corporate warehouse(s) and third-party providers are operating efficiently and effectively.
Propose and implement continuous improvement projects to focus on increasing productivity goals, reducing turnover, and further automation goals, etc.
Establishes goals and objectives that are to be completed in a safe and efficient manner leading to a profitable organization.
Partner with senior leaders in merchandising, store operations, digital operations, and information technology to balance strategic direction and business initiatives with the tactical demands of daily operations to support the companys rapid growth.
Interfaces with senior and executive management throughout the corporation on a variety of logistics and distribution-related issues.
Oversees, implements, coordinates, and evaluates the distribution strategy, ensuring it is carried out efficiently and effectively.
Identifies issues, solutions, and any opportunities for improvement.
Provides strong leadership, guidance, and development of all supply chain operations and employees.
Defines, develops, and ensures annual budgets to include capital and expense budget planning, cost controls, productivity objects, and operations requirements are executed.
Negotiates and communicates effectively with suppliers/vendors and all other internal and external business partners on strategic, operational, and support needs and concerns.
Protects the companys assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to lead a multi-level team of Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Leads.
- Responsible for an employee workforce of 70 -100 people in a highly automated environment.
- Sets the tone and culture in the facility so that the colleagues working in the facility feel valued and appreciated.
- Sets a management tone and culture that is pro-associate.
- Has the ability to absorb and understand the priorities of multiple constituents from the various facias of the JD North America Group.
- Ability to lead and work cross-functionally with the Merchandising organizations, and store operations organizations of the JD North America Group facias.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in warehouse logistics and distribution senior leadership, preferably in the retail industry
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to adapt communications to different audiences.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Operational experience with warehouses, thorough knowledge, and experience with warehousing, transportation, and logistics operations in a retail environment.
- Experience in an environment recognized for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Salary: $189,440.00- $284,160.00
