Position Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the
Staff/Senior Accountant
will play a vital role in supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and driving process improvements. This role offers exposure to diverse business areas and the opportunity to grow into leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and post journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyze income statement accounts and investigate variances.
Collaborate on process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.
Document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
Engage with district leaders to understand operations and address challenges.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
3+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred).
CPA license or progress toward CPA is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and familiarity with general ledger functions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Experience in distribution, building, or construction industries is a bonus.
A team-oriented mindset and the ability to build relationships across the organization.
Work Schedule & Environment
Hybrid Schedule:
In-office during the first 5 days of month-end close.
Required in-office days: Tuesdays and the last 2 days of the month.
Flexibility to work remotely for 7 additional days each month.
Office-based role with light physical demands.
