The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Informatica tools and technologies, with a focus on implementing and managing Informatica Common Services. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and reliable data integration across various MHS applications and systems.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Informatica Common Services (ICS) Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Informatica-based data integration solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain Informatica Common Services components for MHS data integration needs.
Implement and manage Informatica Domain, Model Repository Service, and other ICS components.
Configure and optimize Informatica services for high availability, scalability, and performance.
Develop and maintain Informatica workflows, mappings, and sessions for complex data integration processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Informatica services and data integration processes.
Collaborate with database administrators and application teams to ensure seamless data integration.
Implement and maintain security measures for Informatica services and data access.
Perform upgrades and patches for Informatica products and services.
Develop and maintain documentation for Informatica configurations, processes, and best practices.
Monitor Informatica services and jobs, ensuring optimal performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Provide expertise and guidance on Informatica best practices to development and operations teams.
Stay current with Informatica product updates and new features, recommending improvements as appropriate.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 5-7 years of experience in Informatica data integration, or
Master's degree in a relevant field with 3-5 years of experience in Informatica data integration, or
PhD in a relevant field with 0-2 years of experience in Informatica data integration
Required Skills and Competencies:
Extensive experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Common Services (ICS)
Strong knowledge of data integration concepts and ETL processes
Proficiency in configuring and managing Informatica Domain and Model Repository Service
Experience with Informatica Administration Console and Workflow Manager
Strong SQL skills and experience with various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Informatica jobs
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience working in government or military healthcare environments
Knowledge of healthcare data standards and terminologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT)
Familiarity with Informatica Cloud and hybrid integration scenarios
Experience with real-time and big data integration using Informatica tools
Knowledge of data quality and data governance principles
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for Informatica artifacts
Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to data integration
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their integration with Informatica
Informatica certifications (e.g., Informatica Certified Professional)

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
