Adecco Staffing is assisting a hospitality client in Cranston, RI, who is looking for a Technical Accountant. This is a direct hire opportunity.
The Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations of multiple Marina locations. Their primary role is to ensure the efficient and accurate management of the Marinas’ financial resources. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Marinas’ policies.
What You'll be Doing
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, Month End closing, and P&L report.
Provide financial reports to the Marinas’ management and corporate office.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Monitor and compare actual financial results to budgeted figures.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing strategies.
Funds Management:
Manage and oversee the Marinas’ cash flow, ensuring funds are available for operational needs.
Monitor daily cash receipts and disbursements.
Utilize financial software and systems to record and track financial transactions.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
Ensure timely payment to vendors and collection from customers.
Auditing and Compliance:
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and Marinas ‘policies.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
Payroll and Tax Management:
Oversee payroll processing and tax-related matters.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Team Management:
Lead Marinas’ accountants and clerical staff.
Provide guidance and training to staff members.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is often preferred.
Several years of experience in financial management, ideally within the hospitality or Marina industry.
Strong knowledge of financial and accounting software. QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
Knowledge of local and federal financial regulations.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Salary is 70k-85k depending on experience.
