SENIOR OFFICE SPECIALIST/PT Position Number: S-3493 Position Summary: This administrative support position within the College of Education and Human Services' Office of Educator Preparation Programs (OEPP ) provides assistance and coordination for all practicum experiences for teacher education students. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED . Three years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to three years. Experience with Microsoft Word. Customer service experience. Organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to project a positive attitude. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results. Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of specific software programs and databases (i.e. Excel, SAP , Taskstream, Perceptive Content). Demonstrated ability to design/maintain web pages. Ability to maintain confidentiality, use good judgment and exercise some independence. Duties & Responsibilities: Provides coordination and support of all clinical experiences, including applications, approvals, eligibility, and evaluations. Provides support and outreach for updates to online applications, student information sheet, and SAP screens related to clinical experiences as necessary. Serves as a contact to a broad range of university representatives including Educator Preparation Program faculty, staff, students, and the general public with regard to teacher education clinical experiences. Provides direct communication and support to teacher candidates, student teaching coordinators, and faculty associated with all clinical field experiences and practicums. Represents OEPP to the general public, including final screening and reception of all visitors. Processes mileage reimbursements for University Coordinators and OEPP staff. Processes background checks (ICHATs) for all students in the Teacher Education program and groups affiliated with teacher education. Reviews and coordinates documentation for candidate legal issues. Processes and maintains student legal files for Educator Preparation Programs. Acts as recording secretary for the Clinical Practices and Partnerships Committee and/or Educator Preparation Committees as directed. Serves as back-up to other OPs in OEPP .
