Position Summary:

The Communications Manager will lead all internal and external communications efforts to effectively convey our church's vision, mission, and activities to our congregation and the wider community. This role requires a dynamic, creative, and strategic communicator capable of managing our digital presence, enhancing our public relations efforts, and ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communication: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that includes internal and external communications, public relations, and marketing efforts in collaboration with church staff and leadership.
  • Digital Presence Management: Oversee the management of the WSPC website and social media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
  • Content Marketing: Lead video production and content marketing initiatives to engage our community and beyond with impactful messaging and storytelling.
  • Email and Direct Mail: Manage email marketing and direct mail programs to effectively communicate with our congregation and community.
  • Public Relations: Collaborate with staff members on all PR and marketing initiatives, manage relationships with external partners and vendors.
  • Community Engagement: Improve Google and Yelp listings, solicit reviews, and manage the church's events calendar to support and prioritize church events.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Utilize CRM Database to communicate internally and externally, providing weekly/monthly reports on website, social media, and virtual/in-real-life attendance stats with the assistance of external staff.
  • Signage and Visual Communication: Create signage in and around the building to guide and inform congregation members and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in communications, PR, or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or church setting.
  • Strong skills in content creation, digital marketing, and social media management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in website management and familiarity with SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational and project management skills.
