Kelly Services looking for a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join our client’s team. In this role, you will create, construct, and assemble various structural steel components from raw materials, ensuring precise and high-quality fabrication. Using cutting-edge tools, machinery, and welding techniques, you will be essential to our production process, building parts for machinery, vehicles, structures, and more.

Details:
  • Monday – Friday    
  • 1st Shift: 5 am to 4 pm 
  • 2nd Shift: 4 pm to 3:30 am (with a 10% shift premium) 
  • Training begins on the 1st shift, then transitions to the 2nd shift after 2 weeks to 2 months.

Responsibilities:
  • Lift, position, and remove materials from conveyors and storage areas as needed for production.
  • Measure accurately and mark reference points on materials to guide the fabrication process.
  • Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, and materials manually or using cranes.
  • Operate all necessary yard equipment, including overhead cranes, for material handling.
  • Secure workpieces with chains and clamps to facilitate safe and efficient movement.
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning and grinding them prior to fabrication, welding, or finishing.
  • Gather and remove leftover scrap from work areas to maintain a clean and organized space.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations, machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain welding certifications for carbon steel (MIG and SMAW); TIG welding experience with stainless steel and aluminum is a plus.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to accurately complete fabrication tasks.

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication, including layout and welding of various metals like stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated reliability in previous positions.
  • Solid reading, math, and measurement skills with attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills, mechanical knowledge, and manual dexterity are highly valued.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
