About the Accounting Manager position:
Our client is seeking a mission-driven Accounting Manager who will oversee the accounting team and ensure the financial health of the organization. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic oversight with detailed execution. The ideal candidate is not only a skilled accounting professional but also a leader who inspires and develops their team while aligning with our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a small team of accounting professionals to achieve excellence in financial operations.
Financial Oversight: Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Grants ownership: Manage all of the federal and state grants, related accounting, tracking expenditures, compliance reporting.
Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the annual budget, providing detailed financial analysis to inform decision-making.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, GAAP, and organizational policies, including preparation for audits.
Hands-On Work: Actively participate in day-to-day accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial processes and implement best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with program leaders and the executive team to align financial practices with organizational goals.
Qualifications of the Accounting Manager :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. (CPA or CMA preferred).
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Prior experience in nonprofit accounting and familiarity with grant management and reporting requirements.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit-specific regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentorship and team development.

Salary range: $105,000-$115,000, depending on experience#INNOV2024#ZRCFS#LI-KS5
