Description:
Responsible for the direct management of a moderately large/complex accounting function and the accounting staff in support of that function
Monitor department policies and procedures and recommend improvements; serve as a resource in all aspects of accounting
Ensure that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timely
Serve as a liaison between the company and external auditors and regulatory authorities
Complete reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by management
May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
Manage the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements
Responsible for the development, modification and review of accounting systems, reporting methods and controls
Ensure integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts
Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures
Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of direct reports (may include support and/or professional staff members)
Assign, direct, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operations
Ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Company procedures
Establish accounting plans, goals, and policies that are consistent with established company-wide goals
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Apply principles of accounting to monitor and analyze financial information, and prepare specialized reports
Balance books and prepare accounting statements (i.e., profit/loss, income, cash flow, etc.) and schedule
Record assets and liabilities and other financial transactions
Maintain records of disbursements and expenses
Review accounts and reports for accuracy
May contribute to the design or modification of accounting systems
Contribute to improving processes and procedures that accurately capture, track and report on financial transactions

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of accounting experience (or equivalent related education and experience)
CPA or MBA preferred
At least 2+ years supervisory experience
Proven proficiency in leading the day-to-day activities of the department
Expert knowledge of Excel is required
Deltek Costpoint experience required
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such
clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
