Caring leadership team invested in YOU!Job DetailsSummary: The Senior Accountant manages general accounting functions, including maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. This role demands accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with various departments to support company goals. The position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and completing special projects with minimal supervision. It also supports the Accounting Manager as needed. This opportunity is a contract-to-hire engagement with the ideal permanent hiring timeframe being after a 90 day contract period. This position is also fully onsite in our great, easy to commute to office. You'll be joiningMain Duties & Core Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Provide financial analysis and counsel to management, investigating discrepancies and variances.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in reporting and daily functions.
Handle sales & use taxes, including payments, system updates, annual filings, and audits.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting by offering insights and recommendations.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Reconcile commission payments for sales reps and distributors.
Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance asset protection and reduce risks.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.
Coach and mentor other accountants as needed.
Document and update procedures for all tasks.
Complete other related duties and projects as assigned.Required Qualifications: Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance, accounting, and budgeting.
Excellent mathematical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and large-scale ERP systems, preferably SAP.
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
