Job Description
Currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager. This person will provide Project Management and Preconstruction support, to ensure the company delivers a high quality, cost effective and timely project . They will interface with and periodically support Superintendents in the field as needed.
Project s consist of various commercial project s, including high end retail, casino renovation, and a ground up office building. Project values are between $1-4 Million.
Responsibilities include:
Preconstruction
Assist in preparation and management of bid packages
Maintain bid list and confirm Subcontractor participation
Subcontractor prequalification
Maintenance of company Subcontractor database
Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in development of Owner proposals
Maintain and organize preconstruction documents, including drawings and supplemental bid documents
Operations
Maintain project logs (i.e. Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.)
Maintain and update schedules
Identify need for and write RFIs
Prepare, review and process shop drawings
Maintain as-built drawings
Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting
Material purchasing and expediting
Document management and distribution
Value engineer ing design and proposals
Coordinating with Subcontractors and Vendors
Visits project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standards
Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness
Field Support
Assist Superintendents with various responsibilities on the project site, including maintain project files, project and customer databases, and inventory.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineer ing (or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience).
Prefer 3 years of experience in commercial construction. Would consider someone with education and less experience.
Computer software experience: Bluebeam, Procore, Building Connected, Microsoft Project , MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.
Understanding of AIA Contract Documents.
Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineer ing drawings, and other construction documents.
