A fantastic opportunity for a pivotal role within a construction company, responsible for overseeing the procurement of steel materials essential for our projects. As the industry evolves, so does the need for strategic sourcing and effective supply chain management. The Steel Purchasing Director will lead efforts in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals while ensuring the highest quality materials are sourced at competitive prices. This role requires a thorough understanding of the market and the ability to forge strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and mitigate risks associated with supply shortages or price fluctuations. The Steel Purchasing Director will also collaborate closely with project managers and engineering teams to anticipate material needs, streamline purchasing processes, and maintain optimal inventory levels. Additionally, this position will involve staying informed about industry trends, analyzing market data, and reinforcing compliance with regulations and standards. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving cost-effectiveness and efficiency in procurement operations, ultimately supporting the overall success of our construction initiatives and contributing to our mission of delivering superior quality projects within budget and on schedule. Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans for steel materials aligned with corporate objectives Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities in the steel industry Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with specifications Collaborate with project managers to forecast material needs and optimize procurement timelines Monitor and analyze procurement data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding material procurement

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and negotiation Experience with inventory management and supply chain logistics Deep understanding of steel specifications, grades, and industry standards For a faster response, please text "SPD" to 904-712-6140.
