Required:
Color digital press operator with 5+ years of print experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required: Thorough knowledge of Xerox Free Flow Software, or an industry make-ready software equivalent, to accurately prepare and impose files for digital printing. This would include doing make-ready for routine and more complex digital jobs.
Basic working knowledge of Adobe Suite; InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Pit Stop software (Or complete training course(s) for these applications within one year of hire)
Thorough knowledge of color management theory and be familiar with industry quality standards such as SNAP/GrayCol to ensure print quality. (Or pass a written test on SNAP Guidelines within 6 months of hire)
Able to visually inspect electronic files and printed products for acceptable quality standards.
Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
Ability to: See and differentiate colors to perform color checks and/or make minor color adjustments to ensure quality products.
Effectively prioritize workflow, multi-task and demonstrates strong time management skills in a fast paced production environment.
Work effectively with people and to work under stress and deadlines; strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Be flexible in scheduling to ensure all work is completed by established deadline and support late job requests.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills: Ability to perform minor daily maintenance on digital presses or finishing equipment.
Knowledge in the Host system to receive and fill orders for hospital forms.
Education and Experience Required: 3-5 years’ experience in a fast-paced printing environment.
Digital press (Xerox DocuTecs/DC8000, Rizzos or comparable equipment) experience for accurate and quality color and BW production.
Broad practical experience utilizing PC and/or Macintosh operating systems and Microsoft software, including Word, Excel and Publisher.
Experienced in setting up and operating a variety of finishing equipment such as but not limited to; Stitch & Trim equipment (Borg), desktop power folder, guillotines, Duplo, shrink wrap machine, hole punch, glue padder, etc.
Preferred Education and Experience: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Offset press and or Ryobi press experience.
Responsibilities: Printer III works under the general direction of the Supervisor but works independently and provides direction to other production staff, as required.
Floor leaders and specialize in operating the digital color printer while possessing extensive knowledge of operating BW digital press equipment.
Independently utilize a variety of software applications to trouble shoot file problems and make color adjustments to files, as required.
Would include doing make-ready for complex digital jobs requiring extensive trouble shooting or pagination set-up.
Printer III independently set up and operates all finishing equipment required to complete work orders. Inspects all jobs for accuracy and quality.
Actively participate in customer service and accept responsibility-maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Works independently and provides direction to other production staff, as required, when supervisor is not available.
Completes print jobs accurately within the timelines established and notifies supervisor immediately of any problems that would impact or cause delays in meeting these schedules.
Independently processes electronic files or scanning materials to appropriate press, trouble shoot electronic files, as required, and accurately paginate jobs on digital BW or color presses.
Analyzes color and makes appropriate adjusts to create pleasing memory color or match proofs that are provided.
Inspects all jobs for accuracy, quality and prepares print jobs for delivery.
This could include coordinating couriers to ensure on time delivery of color proofs or final product.
Provides accurate grid pricing to customers for core color and more complex black and white print jobs.
Completes all job tracking logs, POD orders, Form POs and any required reports accurately and on a daily basis.
Independently utilizes a variety of press and finishing equipment to produce color or BW printing/copying jobs per instructions on worksheet with the highest quality and accuracy possible using the most efficient processes to meet established the deadlines. If verbal communication with customers or manager is provided, this should be written on work request.
Monitors paper and supply inventories and notifies supervisor if paper stock or supplies need to be ordered.
Assists supervisor in creating effective workflow and adheres to established procedures.
Participates as a contributing team member by providing ideas, backup support and cross training that facilitates improvement of quality and efficiencies and assists department in obtaining Gallup goals.
