Job Description
LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:The Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk is responsible for managing incoming payments, accurately recording revenue, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. This role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s cash flow and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Management:
Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.
Verify invoice accuracy by reconciling with purchase orders, contracts, and delivery records.
Payment Processing:
Record payments received through various methods (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards).
Apply payments to customer accounts and ensure accurate ledger updates.
Collections and Account Follow-Up:
Monitor accounts for overdue payments and initiate contact with customers to resolve past-due accounts.
Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address billing discrepancies and disputes.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile customer accounts to ensure balances are accurate and up to date.
Prepare monthly AR aging reports and identify accounts requiring follow-up.
Customer Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer billing inquiries.
Maintain professional relationships while resolving payment and account issues.
Compliance and Reporting:
Adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations regarding revenue recognition and collection practices.
Assist in preparing reports for audits and month-end close activities.
Process Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements to streamline the AR process.
Support the implementation of new tools and technologies for accounts receivable management.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR best practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Other Requirements:
Experience with ERP systems or AR automation tools is a plus.
Knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.
Compensation: $26-$30/hour DOE
