Job Description
LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for performing financial, administrative, and clerical duties related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate ensures accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Management:
Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and proper approval.
Match invoices with purchase orders and packing slips.
Payment Processing:
Prepare and process electronic transfers, checks, and payments to vendors.
Schedule and ensure timely payments according to vendor terms.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately enter invoice and payment data into the accounting system.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
Reconciliations:
Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and paid.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices or payments.
Vendor Relations:
Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues, payment status, and account updates.
Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Compliance and Reporting:
Adhere to company policies and financial procedures.
Assist in preparing accounts payable reports and month-end close activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $26-$30/hour DOE
