Staff Accountant

Grand Rapids area manufacturer is seeking a staff accountant with the ability and desire to move into a Controller or Accounting manager.
Must have a four-year accounting degree.
Two years or more experience in an Accounts Payable and Payroll function desired.
Requires experience using ERP/MRP software and payroll processing software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Soloman) and third-party payroll processing (ADP/PaxChex, etc.) extremely beneficial.
Excellent Excel skills are a must.
Initial duties will be accounts payable, invoicing, time keeping, attendance, payroll, account reconciliations, assist with HR functions, and cost investigations.
Eventually, this right person will be able to handle all of the accounting functions including, but not limited to:
All financial reporting, income statement and balance sheet creation, cost accounting & controls, HR management, AR control, internal controls, budgets, forecasting, governmental reporting, compliance with current laws and future laws, manage the banking relationship and secure financing, supervise accounting and HR staff, risk management (insurance), and cash flow analysis and projections.
The Controller works with IT to assure data integrity and directs or assists in report writing and software development.
As the Controller, you will be the senior executive responsible for managing the financial actions of the company and will be in charge of tracking cash flow, analyzing strengths/weaknesses of the company's finances, communicating with the President, and overseeing all aspects of its financial success.
