Job Responsibilities

Assists supervisors and employees with personnel matters including coordinating interviews, disciplinary actions, insurance, retirement, etc. This is accomplished by attending training classes and meetings. Responsible for updating the staff on agency policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance with SCDOT Rules and Regulations. Oversees time keeping responsibilities to ensure time is entered properly for payroll accuracy. Supervises, plans, assigns, and reviews work of subordinate personnel engaged in regular operations of administrative projects/procedures to ensure operations within SCDOT guidelines, policies and directives. This is accomplished by relaying meeting information, distributing reading materials, leading meetings, and conducting training sessions. Provides administrative support duties and directs daily administrative duties such as handling telephone messages from public, receiving and sorting incoming correspondence, generating daily work request using HMMS compiling data for reports as needed and receiving radio messages and routing to proper personnel. Represents the agency in contacts with public officials, government agencies and the public in services including meetings, answering calls, filing inquiries, etc. Required to work extended hours during inclement weather/emergency conditions and performs administrative duties as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
