Job Responsibilities

Performs and directs daily administrative duties such as handling telephone calls/ messages from public, receiving and sorting incoming correspondence, generating daily work request using HMMS compiling data for reports as needed and receiving radio messages and routing to proper personnel. Operates the SCDOT HMMS computer system related to maintenance programs such as daily work reports, work requests, the Adopt-A-Highway program, stockpile tables, and material cost tables. Coordinates and processes personnel actions for the unit and serves as central contact for personnel matters; interprets personnel policies and procedures. Initiates shopping carts and purchase orders in SCEIS and any paperwork necessary for the procurement of office and field supplies. Serves as contact for procurement records and payment status to vendors. Maintains SCDOT filing system. Assigns correct document numbers, physically filing each document. Serves as liaison for maintenance purchasing cards monitoring credit card expenditures and ensuring accurate receipts are on file for all purchases. Coordinates Adopt-A-Highway program for Abbeville County. Required to work extended hours/shifts during inclement weather and emergency operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicles operator's license is required.

The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
