Job Description Our client, a leading organization in the real estate industry, is seeking a Real Estate Accounting Supervisor to join their team in Minneapolis! This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is passionate about team leadership, quality control, and delivering high-quality financial reporting in the real estate sector. Key Responsibilities As a Real Estate Accounting Supervisor, you will: Oversee and manage a team of accountants, focusing on coaching, mentoring, and ensuring high-quality work output. Apply your knowledge of lease and legal documents to manage a portfolio and support the team in understanding these documents. Assist with and review the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts, and operating expense reconciliations/estimates. Coordinate with property acquisitions and dispositions teams to manage smooth transitions. Supervise staff portfolios to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting. Review and approve key financial reports and schedules, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, cash flow projections, tax preparations, tenant audits, and GAAP to Tax reconciliations. Communicate proactively with internal teams, including Real Estate Management, Capital Markets, and Asset Management/Ownership representatives. Research and resolve open accounting issues, addressing potential conflicts to prevent larger issues from arising. Lead by example, embodying the values of the organization and setting a standard for the team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in real estate accounting. Advanced knowledge of Yardi, MRI, and JDE E1 software.
