Scion Executive Search (SES) has been exclusively retained by the Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) to conduct an immediate search for a highly innovative and entrepreneurial Executive Director (ED). Indiana Tech provides learners a professional education preparing them for active participation, career advancement, and leadership in the global 21st-century society. This full-time, on-site leadership opportunity located in Fort Wayne, IN, offers an annual salary of $120,000-$150,000 and a robust benefits package.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Junction 36, Powered by Indiana Tech, is searching for a dynamic Executive Director to be the visionary driving force behind a transformative initiative to bring an Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center to the Fort Wayne region. Initially funded by a five-year grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., Junction 36 aims to become the epicenter of advanced manufacturing innovation and associated workforce training in Indiana. The incoming ED will lead the center's journey from concept to groundbreaking reality, building a sustainable model to ensure Junction 36's impact endures for future generations.
As the face of Junction 36, the ED will lead daily operations and oversee a variety of areas, including staffing, marketing, financial strategy, and fundraising. Working in collaboration with Indiana Tech's administrative departments, the ED will manage the construction, launch, and strategic direction of Junction 36, harnessing resources to make the center a hub for Industry 4.0 training, automation, prototyping, and cutting-edge business innovation.
The ED will also steer two cornerstone programs: the Public Workshop and Talent Connection. These programs are designed to enrich diverse learners, empower entrepreneurs, and enhance the advanced manufacturing workforce in Northeast Indiana. By building connections with manufacturers, innovators, and educators, the ED will foster an ecosystem focused on the use of state-of-the-art technologies to ensure that Junction 36 becomes a beacon of progress in advanced manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead collaboration efforts with key partners such as Ancora, NEI, NIIC, the Amp Lab/Fort Wayne Community Schools and the City of Fort Wayne.
- Identify the technology and workforce needs for advanced manufacturing in Northeast Indiana's industries.
- Promote and market Junction 36, its partners, Indiana Tech, and Electric Works through various communication channels.
- Recruit members, sponsors, sublease tenants, event participants, and Fellows program sponsors.
- Recruit, hire, and manage the Junction 36 team, including program assistant director, executive assistant, operations manager, equipment operators, student workers, and adjunct faculty.
- Oversee the Talent Connection program, focusing on recruiting, marketing, and leadership of fellows.
- Pursue grants and other funding opportunities.
- Ensure the project's sustainability beyond the five-year grant support period.
- Recruit and manage a diverse advisory board, comprising business leaders, community members, and advanced manufacturing experts.
- Manage Junction 36's budget planning, operations, and capital expenditures, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Track and report success metrics for Junction 36 programs.
- Support partners with program improvements, communications, and collaboration initiatives.
- Facilitate regular partner meetings to enhance coordination, gather feedback, and identify new opportunities.
- Be the Junction 36 media and public relations spokesperson
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of relevant experience with comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities
- 10+ years of experience managing, working with, and leading diverse, cross-disciplinary teams
- Working knowledge of engineering and technology, specifically in Advanced Manufacturing and automation (e.g., Industry 4.0 or Robotics 4.0+)
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience managing capital projects
- Entrepreneurial, action-oriented self-starter with strong prioritization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
