You will be accountable for delivering quality content that effectively conveys marketing messages and complex technical information to prospects, customers, and partners. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of efficient production workflows and tools within the daily marketing process to achieve marketing excellence. The Manager, Marketing Communications is an on-site role located in San Jose, CA. How you will make an impact: The Manager, Marketing Communications will have a significant impact by leading and mentoring a team of writers who will deliver high quality marketing content and technical documentation. This role involves conveying scientific messages, enhancing production workflows, and driving marketing excellence through efficient processes and tools for prospects, customers, and partners. What will you do: Lead and manage a team of marketing content writers and technical writers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. Set clear goals and expectations for team members and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery of high-quality documentation/marketing content. Assign projects, manage stakeholder expectations, and maintain relationships with third-party contractors or agencies. Recruit team members and provide training and onboarding for new team members to ensure smooth integration into the technical communication team. Work with the Director, Digital Marketing to develop and implement content marketing strategies for the technical communication team. Evaluate, recommend, and develop documentation processes and assist with development of internal writing style guide and company's tone of voice. Ensure documentation complies with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and provide updates on documentation projects. Regularly report on documentation metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement efforts. Implement quality control processes to ensure all documentation meets established company standards. This role has supervisory responsibilities. How will you get here? Bachelor's or master's degree in life sciences. Proven experience in managing marketing communications teams within the biomedical or life science industries. Minimum of 5 years' experience in direct personnel management, encompassing goal setting, performance monitoring, recruitment, task delegation, mentorship, and supervision of a team. Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills, with a strong understanding of go-to-market messaging, preferably in the life science industry. Superior organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple, complex projects/priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong appreciation for timelines and due dates and a keen eye for detail. Ability to quickly adjust to unforeseen changes in priorities and workload, resolve conflicts, and exercise good judgment in complex situations. Working knowledge of Google Adwords, Marketo Email Automation platform, and e-commerce platforms is preferred. You are amazing if you have: Hands-on experience with project management software tools. The US base salary range for this full-time position, expected to be located in San Jose, CA, is $125,000 - $135,000 USD. This range may be modified at any time at our sole discretion.
