As the Staff Accountant and Payroll Accountant, you'll be responsible for performing a range of payroll accounting and financial accounting tasks. The position is responsible for assisting the Accounting and Finance Business Unit in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. Your responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities will include: Payroll and Accounting Recording payroll in Craft3's general ledger from reports you will be generating from the third-party payroll processor's system. Entering daily banking transactions into the accounting system. Preparing monthly and quarterly B&O taxes. Reconciling bank accounts. Backing up for the Accounts Payable position. Assisting with the preparation of the 1099 forms. Assisting to prepare and processing month end journal entries Managing finance team emails. Managing digital mail system for finance team. Gathering information and preparing payroll related reports as required. Complete balance sheet reconciliations as assigned by the Assistant Controller Ops. Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls regarding payroll. Assist in the preparation of information required by auditors/examiners or others. Assist in the preparation of information reporting to the IRS. Managing discrete projects and deliverables to advance the goals of the department. Assisting with month-end payroll reconciliations. Ad hoc financial projects and analysis as needed and assigned by Assistant Controller - Ops. Primary IT System Business Central Cross-team Support Act as back up to Senior Accountants and the Accounts Payable accountant. Collaborating with other Craft3 business units to streamline systems and processes. Assisting in creating or delivering training to new staff members as appropriate. Participating with all members of the Craft3 team. Contributing to the body of knowledge, sharing best practices and suggest process improvement ideas. Your knowledge and experience: Commitment to the mission of Craft3. Two three years related accounting experience in non-profit finance, banking, or community development.
