Salary: $6,554.00 Monthly Location : BCIT - 126 East Nueva San Antonio, TX Job Type: Full-time Regular Job Number: 2024-00993 Department: Information Technology Opening Date: 02/06/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Summary Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement Duties and Responsibilities Applies subject matter knowledge in the area of Business Analytics, providing services to clients in a shared services environment Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making. Identifies areas to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes Responsible for performing general analytics and statistical modeling on existing data sets in various areas of the county to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via understanding of the business model and the information available for analysis Uses data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making Improves data quality and designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing data using statistical tools like Microsoft Excel, SAS, SSRS, and others Interprets data, analyze results using statistical techniques Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets Works with management to prioritize business and information needs Locates and defines report and business intelligence improvement opportunities Performs other related technology duties and projects as assigned Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant degree, 3-5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases (SQL), and programming (e.g., XML or ETL frameworks); knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SAS); knowledge of programming logic, although no experience with a specific programming language; experience as a data analyst or business data analyst Expertise skill regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques; proficient skill in performing queries, report writing, and presenting findings; analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy; analytical skills and an understanding of system databases, data elements, and application software solutions to maximize data gathering and data analysis Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test Required to be on call 24 hours May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek May be required to work weekends This position may need to satisfy the requirement of completing and passing an assessment during the employment process Working Environment and Physical Demands: Constantly working in indoor conditions / telework conditions Frequently moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds Occasionally moves objects weighing up to 15-30 pounds Occasionally moves about the office / telework office Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Positions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office / telework arrangement Must be able to remain in a stationary position Maintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies Supplemental Information Workstations with internet access are available, if needed, to view job postings and apply online at 211 S Flores, San Antonio, TX 78204, 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday.
