Summary
Under direction, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement. Flexibility to deliver services in a telework environment and supervise colleagues in a telework environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountabilityResponsible for activities related to the deployment and administration of infrastructure security policies and procedures within multiple environments; to include network, systems and databaseAdministers user identity roles, groups, and permissions across the network, with a specific focus on Active Directory to effectively manage access controlsResponsible for the deployment and administration of security appliances and tools within hybrid on premise data centers and Azure cloud environmentsSupports core identity system; including: Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory Federated Services, Multi-Factor AuthenticationDevelops and maintains Active Directory Group Policy (AD) rules and assignmentsActs as a Domain Administrator/Tier Zero level authority of the security frameworkEstablishes Standard Operating Procedures for administration of AD accounts and related permissionsTroubleshoots identified security incidents originating from the Information Security Team, to include implementation of necessary corrective action in collaboration with other engineersCoordinates prioritized access and security incidents requiring remediation and/or mitigation tasks, and provide incident data collection as requiredResponds to alert monitoring tools for prompt resolution of identified threats relative to user accessCollaborates with application owners to determine how identity management can be streamlined and integrated into source systems for enhanced administrationDelegates security and access related requests to team members as requiredResponsible for providing audit reports from infrastructure systems as requested from Information SecurityValidates hardware and software audits, provided by Information Security, of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesCoaches and mentors supervised team membersPerforms other related technology duties and projects as assignedMinimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant degree in Information Technology with focus in access and identity security, five (5) or more years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong knowledge of Microsoft Products; strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Government Cloud Services, and Government Security Standards; knowledge of server virtualization platforms and related securityExpert skill in problem solving; skill in IT Management frameworks; strong skill with TCP/IP, DNS, DCHP, WINS, Active Directory, Group Policy; skill with Office 365 management; skill with MS Server 2008/2010/2012+; strong skills with scripting and automationAbility to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner across functional and technical departments, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general publicDemonstrates technological intuitivenessMust secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearanceMust clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen testRequired to travel to remote sites within Bexar CountyMust have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insuranceMust have available transportation during entire workdayRequired to be on call 24 hoursMay be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekMay be required to work weekendsThis position may need to satisfy the requirement of completing and passing an assessment during the employment processPreferred Education or Experience:
