Tesla is seeking a Business Development Manager to build and maintain customer relationships and expand Tesla's Semi Truck customer deployments. This person will regularly meet with Semi customers to understand their use cases, needs, and duty cycles. They will work with individual site managers to spec vehicles and associated charging infrastructure. You will be responsible for guiding the customer and site through all stages of the on-boarding, commissioning, delivery, and implementation processes while working with vehicle build teams, charging deployment, and the larger program to ensure smooth project execution and timely handoff. When required, you will work with government agencies and customers to ensure any project that involves external funding to ensure Tesla supports with the relevant deliverables and information. This will also require working closely with Tesla's policy team to provide input on various funding programs and feedback on how regulation, legislation, and other government efforts might impact the Semi program. This role requires a strong communicator with a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle landscape and fleet operating environment. Responsibilities Manage individual fleet accounts and associated sites Work with reservation holders to determine if Semi is an operational fit Provide and convey Semi vehicle and charging specs to customers Coordinate permitting, utilities, and construction project manager Relay and maintain customer requests and feedback to program and engineering teams Manage sales contract negotiations Provide customer and market insights to inform Tesla's growth in the Semi space Requirements 4 years of fleet management, commercial vehicle sales, and/or industry leadership experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills to provide professional presentations to senior level managers, customer executive teams, and government leaders. Self-starter who can handle multiple projects with different requests, schedules, and priorities with minimal direction. Ability to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
