Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing the monthly financials and reconciling general ledger accounts. This position requires a strong accounting background and analytical skills, the ability to organize tasks, and the capacity to utilize technology to streamline accounting activities. The Senior Accountant works closely with the rest of the Finance team and all other departments within The Bridge. Essential Position Functions: Prepare the monthly and quarterly financials. Review monthly postings to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Reconcile inter-company transactions. Maintain the fixed asset accounts and prepare depreciation schedules. Assist with the preparation of the audited financial statements and tax filings. Communicate regularly with auditors during the annual audit to provide needed information and resolve any discrepancies. Prepare the yearend lease accounting schedule. Review bank reconciliations. Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations. Calculate insurance expense allocations. Monitor cash account balances and transactions. Liaise with the fee-for-service billing team to ensure the accuracy of the monthly revenues booked to the general ledger. Review cash receipts and accounts receivable for accuracy. Prepare the monthly cash flow schedule. Calculate the annual ASA costs and modify the agreements accordingly Record interest and investment income. Review and reconcile receipts and expenses for fundraising events and other donations. Assist in the preparation of ad hoc fundraising reports. Perform special projects and focus on other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 4 years of relevant experience Advanced Excel capabilities Non-profit experience and working with government agencies a plus Superior attention to detail and strong communication skills Demonstrated ability to be a team player and to mentor more junior team members Exceptional Excel skills with an aptitude to embrace new technology, systems, and workflows Aptitude for financial variance analysis Ability to adapt to and prioritize competing demands Desire to constantly learn and grow The Bridge Inc. is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
