Scaffolding Supervisor – Fabrication Yard Job Summary
The Scaffolding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all scaffolding operations in the fabrication yard. This role involves managing a team of scaffolders to ensure that scaffolding structures are erected, maintained, and dismantled safely and efficiently according to project specifications and safety regulations. The Scaffolding Supervisor will be accountable for the safety of all scaffolding activities, ensuring that all work is compliant with industry standards, HSE regulations, and project schedules. Scaffolding Supervisor – Fabrication Yard Responsibilities Oversee the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring that all work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Lead and manage a team of scaffolders, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Ensure the team follows proper safety procedures and that all scaffolders are equipped with the necessary tools and equipment. Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures during scaffolding operations. Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct regular inspections of scaffolding structures to ensure stability, safety, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Ensure all scaffold equipment is in good working condition. Assist in the planning and design of scaffolding layouts, ensuring that scaffold structures are suitable for the intended tasks and load requirements. Work closely with project managers and engineers to coordinate scaffolding requirements. Identify and resolve any issues related to scaffolding installations, modifications, or dismantling. Ensure minimal disruption to the overall project workflow. Maintain accurate records of scaffolding activities, including daily reports, scaffold inspections, and equipment inventories. Report any incidents or safety concerns to management. Coordinate with other departments, including welding, rigging, and construction teams, to ensure scaffolding structures are available and ready as needed for various phases of the project. Scaffolding Supervisor – Fabrication Yard Position Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in scaffolding operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a fabrication yard or industrial setting. Extensive knowledge of scaffolding erection, inspection, and dismantling techniques. Scaffolding Supervisor Certification or equivalent qualification. Valid Scaffolder Competency Certificate (CISRS, SAIA, or equivalent). Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are advantageous. Proficiency in reading and interpreting scaffold designs, blueprints, and technical drawings. In-depth understanding of industry standards and safety regulations for scaffolding operations (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
