EHS Specialist, in Rochester, NY, Job 1761 at consentiumsearch.com Our manufacturing client has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist in Rochester, NY. This position is a key member of the location’s EHS team and is highly visible position. The position provides an excellent platform for potential future growth to the successful candidate. This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our manufacturing client and REQUIRES commuting to the Rochester, NY area daily. HOWEVER, relocation assistance within the US is available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with location SIF prevention efforts including helping to lead deployment and execution of key SIF prevention elements and coaching location leaders. • Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts. • Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records • Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying RCA and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence. • Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities. • Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities. Minimum Requirements: • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship IS NOT available. • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University • Two (2) or more years of OHS management experience in manufacturing (including internships) • Demonstrated success in utilizing and reporting on leading and lagging KPIs resulting in driving health and safety metrics lower • Demonstrated knowledge of standard health and safety programs and auditing Additional Preferred (not required) Competencies: • Bachelor's Degree in EHS or related discipline • Three (3) or more years of OHS management experience in manufacturing environments • Professional Certification (GSP, ASP, etc.) • Major Responsibilities: • Partner with operations leadership and general workforce and serve as SME regarding interpretation of federal, state and local OHS regulations • Lead employee training programs regarding OHS behaviors and compliance • Lead/Participate in OHS audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators • Lead/Participate in Continuous Improvement initiative regarding OHS policies and programs • Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local OHS regulations The information listed above not a complete job description.
