About Us
To meet an ever-expanding need for mental health and substance use disorder treatment services in the region, STR Behavioral Health is excited to announce a new PHP/IOP location opening soon in Lancaster, PA. The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the "why" behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the "how" in moving forward.
We are seeking a psychiatrist to work onsite on a part-time basis.
How You Will Contribute
Ensure the health and safety of all clients
Assess and prescribe appropriate medication regimens
Assess medical and psychiatric issues / concerns and address or make appropriate referral
Approve potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements
Consult with treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues
Position Responsibilities
Maintaining a safe and secure environment
Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
Routine checkups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
Prescribe medications as necessary
Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
Oversee and collaborate with Clinicians on client's treatment plans
Participate in Clinical Treatment team meetings 2x a month
Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
Order Lab work and UAs as needed.
Minimum of two hours a week, depending on current census
Qualifications
What We're Seeking Completed at least 3 years of residency in psychiatry
Licensed practitioner in the State of Pennsylvania
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients
Willingness to take calls during afterhours days and times.
