Job Description
We are seeking an IT Analyst to join our team in Coronado, California. The IT Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, where the successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including network administration, server maintenance, and responding to help desk requests.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair local and wide area networks, along with data, audio, and video communication systems.
• Administer and maintain servers, including hardware and software installation, updates, and patch maintenance.
• Provide network administration for public safety departments and vehicles.
• Respond to Information Systems help desk voice and email requests and inquiries.
• Develop plans for city network infrastructure, implement new network technologies, and configure physical network devices.
• Ensure server and network performance and reliability, identify performance deficiencies, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain central network user account security, telephone/voicemail, and alarm/access control databases.
• Monitor, test, backup, and restore system and database backups on servers.
• Coordinate on-site installation, integration, testing, and servicing performed by outside consultants, contractors, and public agencies.
• Recommend hardware, software, voice, and data network configuration changes or upgrades based on usage, repair history, and department input.
• Configure security controls in multiple protection systems and IT infrastructure; respond to and remediate security incidents.
• Develop and maintain documentation of current system configuration, network, cabling, and administrative security accounts.
• Conduct training courses for city computer users and staff.
• Assist departments in identifying, evaluating, purchasing, and installing appropriate hardware and software.
• Supervise lower-level staff, plan and prioritize work of assigned staff, and participate in performance evaluations.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual IT division budget, make recommendations, and monitor IT expenditures throughout the year.
• Develop and recommend policies and procedures related to information systems and technology.
• Perform other related duties as required.• Proficient in Active Directory.
• Demonstrated knowledge in Computer Hardware.
• Proficient in using MS Office 365.
• Skilled in working with Windows Azure.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with VMware is a must.
• Experience with Nutanix.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server.
• Proven experience as an IT Analyst or similar role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiarity with IT standards and protocols.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
