Our Client, a Retail Company, is looking for Business Analyst (IT): IV (Lead) for their Grand Rapids, MI/Hybrid location
Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Partner with stakeholders to understand business goals, challenges, and opportunities. Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Process Mapping: Analyze current business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
- Solution Design: Work closely with the technical team to define system specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements.
- Documentation: Create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for stakeholders and development teams, including user stories, process flows, and use cases.
- Collaboration: Engage with product managers, engineers, designers, and leadership to ensure seamless communication and delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analysis to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for growth. Help guide decision-making by providing insights based on data analysis.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Assist with UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by creating test cases, helping execute tests, and ensuring the final product meets business requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and technologies to bring new ideas and best practices to the team. Actively contribute to the development of business analysis methodologies.
Requirements

- Strong Analytical Mindset: You think critically, break down complex problems, and enjoy working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with business analysis tools, process modeling software, and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). You don't need to be a coder, but you need to be comfortable working alongside developers and understanding technical concepts.
- Requirements Gathering: You have a knack for asking the right questions to understand the "why" behind every project and turn that into clear, actionable requirements.
- Business Process Mapping: You're a pro at identifying inefficiencies in business processes and creating streamlined solutions to enhance productivity.
- Communication Skills: You're able to communicate complex technical concepts in a simple, approachable way to various stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: No detail is too small for you catch the little things that others might miss, ensuring everything is covered and well-documented.
- Data-Driven: You know how to pull insights from data and use them to influence business decisions, optimize solutions, and track success.
- Agile Familiarity: You're comfortable working in an Agile environment, whether it's with Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with SQL, Jira, ADO or other business analysis tools is a plus!
- The ideal candidate for this role has 5-10+ years of relevant work experience. Leaning towards the latter with only exceptional talents on the lower in end of this time requirement spectrum. This position will serve as the primary liaison between the customer and the software development team. They will be ultimately responsible for enusring clearly documented functional, system and process requirements. This individual will translate the business requests and needs into application and operational requirements. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead a project or group without explicit authority.
- Experience working in [Retail, Finance, IT, Infrastructure, etc.]
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- A knack for project management and handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, CSM, CSPO).
