Position: Travel RN - Dosimetrist
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Schedule: Day (5x8 Hours) 8:00 16:30
Unit: Radiology
What You'll Do:
As a Dosimetrist, you will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to develop and implement customized radiation treatment plans for cancer patients. Your expertise in calculating and optimizing radiation doses will be critical to ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of therapy while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues. You will use state-of-the-art software and imaging technologies to create highly precise treatment plans that align with the specific needs of each patient.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists to design individualized radiation treatment plans.
  • Use 3D imaging, CT scans, and advanced treatment planning systems to calculate radiation dose distributions.
  • Optimize treatment plans to deliver effective doses to cancerous tissues while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
  • Perform complex dose calculations based on the prescribed radiation therapy protocols.
  • Ensure treatment plans meet established quality assurance standards and guidelines.
  • Modify treatment plans as needed to accommodate changes in patient anatomy or tumor response.
  • Work closely with medical physicists to verify and validate treatment plans before delivery.
  • Consult with radiation oncologists to adjust treatment plans in response to clinical findings and patient progress.
  • Assist radiation therapists in understanding the technical details of treatment plans and provide support during treatment delivery.
  • Perform regular quality assurance checks on treatment plans and equipment to ensure the accuracy and safety of radiation therapy.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and radiation protection standards to safeguard both patients and staff..
Requirements:
  • RN license in State of Assignment or compact license
  • Must live 100 miles from the facility
  • 2 years of experience as a traveler 3 years with no travel
  • Covid Vaccine
