Tax Director, Transfer Pricing and Tax Controversy

How you’ll make an impact:
The Director of tax job involves all aspects of the international tax department’s transfer pricing duties. The Tax Director will lead on all aspects of transfer pricing, including documentation, price setting, audit defense (US and international), APAs, etc. The Tax Director will also be involved in tax planning, particularly related to IP ownership and will assist in Tax Compliance related to intercompany transactions and segmentation of entities’ financials. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Transfer Pricing. Manage and provide support to the Senior Director, Transfer Pricing, in the following areas:
Operational Transfer Pricing: Be responsible for the annual transfer price documentation process, including US and local transfer price studies and contemporaneous documentation. Manage the annual transfer price setting process for all intercompany transactions. Research, analyze and manage transfer pricing developments worldwide, including latest OECD guidelines, country by country reporting, local file requirements, etc., ensuring consistency with Corporate Global transfer price policy. Monitor affiliate results and propose and execute transfer pricing adjustments where needed, including analyzing and documenting FIN48 positions. Manage on all advance price agreements, including compliance with Annual Reports, managing all information requests and meeting with tax authorities. Transfer Pricing Tax Planning: Assist on planning related to Intellectual Property and on various tax planning projects. Support modeling and tax research on special tax projects as required. Oversee tax holiday commitment and compliance where necessary. Transfer Pricing Tax Controversy and Examinations: Manage US and international examinations Provide rigorous defense of Company’s transfer pricing positions. Tax Return Compliance, utilizing compliance software where possible: Develop and monitor segmented financials to assist Corporate Tax forecast. Critical contributor to the process of gathering data and synthesizing intercompany transactions for US income tax compliance reporting
What you'll need (Required):
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required, with a minimum of 12 years of experience. Or Masters Degree with 10 years of experience.
What else we look for (Preferred):
MBA, MST, CPA, Preferred. Significant Corporate income tax experience preferred. Knowledge of US tax laws and tax principles, including transfer pricing rules and regulations. Functional experience with ERP systems and reports preferred, especially JD Edwards, Oracle HFM. Some exposure to data management and analytic tools preferred. Excellent proficiency in Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint, Access and Word. Excellent written and verbal skills, including persuasion. Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to form professional relationships/partnerships across business units/regions, etc. and with outside consultants. Strong people and exceptional project management skills. Customer/stakeholder focused. Self-starter, able to be productive through an internal sense of duty and urgency. Exceptional time management skills, including ability to prioritize among competing deadlines/requests. Highly ethical, strong integrity.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $152,000 to $216,000 (highly experienced).
