Antepartum Care and Procedures Required: Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)Skills Preferred Required Work Settings Antepartum Facility births/month

300 Labor and Delivery High Risk Antepartum Level I Nursery LDRP Mother/Baby Antepartum Care and Procedures Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), NST (Non Stress Tests)Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Care Required: Telemetry Interpretation

Fetal Monitoring Required: Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

IV therapy/Phlebotomy Required: Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring

Medication and Administration Required: Anticonvulsants, Antihypertensives, Magnesium, Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline

Labor and Delivery Management Required: Amnioinfusion, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, Scrub for C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam

Neonatal Care in Delivery Room Required: APGAR scores, Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”), Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation

Newborn Care Required: Assist with Circumcision/Assess site post-op, Car Seat Education, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Metabolic Screen, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Phototherapy, Teach Circumcision care to parents Thermoregulation

Pain Management Required: Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Nitrous Oxide, Pain assessment & management

Postpartum Care and Procedures Required: Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley Catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, Wound Assessment and Care

Postpartum Care of the Patient With Vaginal Delivery Cesarean Section, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension
