The Senior IT Business Analyst will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the IT development team of the Starr360 Underwriting & Claims Workflow & Document Management application. This individual will work closely with the Product Owner and Peers to ensure that business requirements are accurately captured and documented in workflows, story maps and user stories to support solutioning and delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the commercial insurance sector, agile methodologies, project management, and testing. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is vital. Key Responsibilities: Develop expertise in the functionality, operation and integration points of the Starr360 application to continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization Support the Product Owner with an extensive Claims and UW Roadmap that requires continuous collaboration with business stakeholders Support the management of stakeholder expectations by understanding their strategic view and working closely with the Product Owner to build the Product backlog. Work independently to drive initiatives forward with full ownership, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements into workflows for solutioning, mockups, develop/maintain Story Maps and detailed user stories with clear, testable Acceptance Criteria Provide project management support, including timeline tracking, resource allocation, and status reporting Act as an extension of the Product Owner, ensuring effective communication with cross-functional teams, including the Scrum Master, IT BAs, Developers and Quality Assurance, to have a clear understanding of the requirements and priorities Drive discussions during agile ceremonies, in particular, refinements, sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives as well as provide support during production deployments Manage the Starr360 Work Intake process and 2nd level production support issues to document root cause and resolutions in Starr's helpdesk ticketing systems Support the preparation and facilitation of the Sprint Review deck and ceremony Support in the coordination of activities & communications with business users, vendors and internal IT groups Assist in the development of test scenarios, test execution and test results validation, as needed Skills/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum 5 years' experience as a senior business analyst, senior IT business systems analyst, senior insurance data analyst or similar role in the Commercial P&C industry Minimum 3 years' experience working with Agile / Scrum teams with a strong understanding on building out workflows, story maps, and writing user stories Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring Team player who takes the initiative when a known gap is present Excellent critical, design thinking and problem-solving skills a must Strong communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Experience with SQL/data reporting tools a must Proficient in the use of MS Office Tools Experience handling 2nd-level production support issues and ticketing/problem tracking systems a plus Ability to work independently, manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,000-$140,000.
