Primary Function:
The Senior Onsite Controls Engineer (PLC) is responsible for the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of advanced automation systems. This role focuses on ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance of automated equipment through expert-level PLC software modifications, diagnostics, and system integration. You will work closely with the customer to tailor solutions, resolve technical issues, and maintain the highest standards of system functionality.

Primary Function:
The Senior Onsite Controls Engineer (PLC) is responsible for the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of advanced automation systems. This role focuses on ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance of automated equipment through expert-level PLC software modifications, diagnostics, and system integration. You will work closely with the customer to tailor solutions, resolve technical issues, and maintain the highest standards of system functionality.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot automated equipment and PLC systems on-site.
- Perform on-site installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of automated equipment to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to specifications.
- Architects, designs, codes, tests, and maintains complex PLC software applications.
- Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in PLC software design, testing techniques, and PLC software development tools.
- Provides design guidelines, and general and detailed software design specifications to other software engineers.
- Effectively assess and communicate project risks. Deliver risk mitigation plans.
- Suggests new and innovative approaches to solving problems.
- Provide technical support and training to the customer for sustained system performance.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years in PLC programming, with hands-on experience in Bosch, Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff systems.
- Experience with SCARA and 6-axis robotic integration.
- Strong background in SCADA systems and HMI development.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and startup of complex automated systems.
- Expertise in servo motion control, safety controllers, and vision-guided motion.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and training delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test upon acceptance of an offer.
