Interview and start ASAP!Responsibilities: * Implement long term (5+ yrs) control system plans and standards for process control improvements; responsible for scaling up chemical processes.* Contribute to development and implementation of controls & automation standards, ensure said standards are met.* Responsible for department controls strategy, reviewing technology offerings and upgrades* Technical lead for department controls and automation projects involving batch and continuous chemical processes, with values up to $500K* Identify and propose improvements to controls and electrical equipment systems (instrumentation systems, power and VFDs, etc.), and follow through with implementation.* Provide automation and process control support, advise on control system designs, and provide ongoing assistance for controls aspects of commissioning and operations activities* Implement recognized regulatory standards with regards to all control policies, procedures and functions, including safety instrumented systems. Provide controls-based review of projects to ensure these requirements are met correctly.* Ensure controls strategy, network and procedures manage OT cyber security requirements appropriately and provide technical support to OT cyber security lead as needed* Support the production/development/review/maintenance/update of controls related documentation, files, procedures, databases, drawings and schematics in order to ensure integrity of systems and process control technologies. Support the development of systems to facilitate these documentation requirements.* Support Operations and the Engineering team with escalated breakdowns, provide assistance to area engineers to troubleshoot process control problems and meet business needs* Guide area personnel on process control strategy in order to assist process control improvement efforts* Hire and direct outside electrical contractors performing work on the controls and electrical systemsJob RequirementsRequirements:* Degree in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation engineering with experience in designing automated electrical controls using programmable automation controllers. Strong experience with Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation Technologies.* 5+ years of industrial work experience within a chemical industry* Demonstrated ability to program PLC Allen Bradley PLC5, Micrologix, Compactlogix and Controllogix processors with Rockwell Automation Software* Experience with SCADA packages, ideally Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalkView SE* Experience with designing, reviewing, and supporting low voltage (<600 V) electrical systems.* Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs/projects as well as address short-term operational issues* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives* Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as AutoCad* Experience in development of engineering standards and production of engineering reports* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation & Process Control* Understanding of cyber security and control regulations* Strong knowledge of motor control design and Variable Frequency Drive operation* Strong knowledge of Digital and Analog I/O module specification, installation, and configuration, both local and remote* Strong knowledge of remote field device communications. Allen Bradley Remote I/O, ControlNet, Ethernet, and other fieldbus protocols.* Knowledge of pneumatic valves and manifolds as used in process control is a plus
