We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to litigation attorneys, focusing on complex case management, in-depth legal research, and meticulous trial preparation.

About The Role: This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional with advanced organizational skills and extensive experience in medical malpractice litigation to contribute to a dynamic, high-performing legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Healthcare Litigation Division Paralegals
  • Work directly with the Director of Healthcare Litigation services to grow Division while maintaining excellence and client-centered values.
  • Case Coordination: Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and experts to discuss and manage case details, timelines, and strategy.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and file routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, interrogatories, and other legal documents in compliance with judicial procedures and court deadlines.
  • Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on statutes, case law, regulations, and legal sources, delivering well-organized written analyses to attorneys.
  • Client & Witness Interviews: Interview clients and witnesses to gather key information and prepare summaries of their statements, ensuring a high level of client service and confidentiality.
  • Case File Management: Organize, store, and maintain all case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and related documents, ensuring quick accessibility and detailed documentation.
  • Trial Preparation: Support attorneys in trial preparation, attending trials and hearings as required, and managing trial binders, exhibits, and other materials.
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Education: Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3-8 years of experience in legal services, specifically in personal injury litigation, under attorney supervision.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish/English skills are highly valued.
Required Skills:
  • Medical Knowledge: Advanced understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation relevant to medical malpractice cases.
  • Legal Acumen: Proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and research methods relevant to personal injury law.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with case management software, with the adaptability to learn new platforms.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to function effectively in a high-paced, sometimes high-stress environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to build rapport, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management software, with adaptability to learn new platforms as needed.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Advanced understanding of medical malpractice law is preferred but required.
  • 3 years specifically in medical malpractice under attorney supervision preferred but not required.
Compensation Package:
  • Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, alongside a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement options, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
