Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic painting & wallcovering work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all buildings and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Receive daily work assignments from Director of Engineering/Manager and review priorities and special projects.
  • Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas.
  • Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by Supervisor in regard to routine and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools.
  • Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces.
  • Ensure security of any assigned keys.
  • Assist with any special projects assigned
  • Attend designated department and staff meetings.
  • Recommend safety ideas; participates in fire prevention and other life safety programs.
Qualifications
  • 5 Years experience as commercial painter.
  • Working knowledge of different types of paints and their applications.
  • Knowledge of the use and application of wall coverings (wall paper, vinyl coverings, etc.)
  • Knowledge of stains and finishes.
  • Knowledge of all tools and equipment respective to job functions.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installations preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
  • Fluency in job related English both verbal and non-verbal
