About the Role

The Paralegal II - Antitrust is an integral part of Latham's Legal Professional and Paralegal team and will be responsible for performing legal tasks, working on legal projects, and providing various support functions to supervisors, while assisting attorneys with the preparation and submission of HSR premerger antitrust filings with the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice. This role will be located in our Washington, D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting attorneys with preparing and submitting HSR premerger antitrust filings with the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice
  • Coordinating ongoing projects and activities in either on-site or off-site locations, utilizing project assistants and support departments when necessary
  • Developing procedures with supervisors for electronic or physical tracking, coding, and ensuring quality control systems for documents
  • Attending and providing support to attorneys at court or agency hearings
  • Creating and maintaining calendars for cases or transactions and distributing to supervisors and other team members
  • Drafting forms, letters, or other legal documents
  • Anticipating typical work for a case or transaction and works with supervisors to ensure all aspects are addressed
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We'd love to hear from you if you:
  • Display proficient knowledge of internal software applications, such as word processing, internet searching skills, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Demonstrate knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
And have:
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent, or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
  • A signed declaration if located in a California office
  • A minimum of four (4) years of related law firm experience as a paralegal
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with HSR and Antitrust filings, preferably

Pay Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
