Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their growing team. This is a remote position ideal for an attorney with a background in insurance defense litigation, including bodily injury defense, construction defect cases, and employment-related disputes. Duties:
- Manage and litigate insurance defense matters, focusing on bodily injury, construction defects, employment disputes, and other related cases.
- Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to strategize and develop case tactics.
- Independently handle all stages of litigation, from discovery to trial, while maintaining flexibility to adapt strategies as needed.
- Provide excellent client service by addressing their unique legal needs and concerns.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
- Stay updated on changes in law and case precedents to ensure the most effective legal strategies.
Requirements:
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- At least 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, preferably with a focus on bodily injury, construction defects, or employment law.
- Strong litigation experience, including managing cases from inception through trial.
- Ability to think creatively and develop strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active California State Bar membership.
- Additional Bar licenses in other states are a plus.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of insurance defense law, including bodily injury and construction defect cases.
- Strong litigation skills with experience in all phases of trial preparation and court appearances.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
- Client-focused with an ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with the latest legal technology and case management systems.
